Pici Restaurant
Conservation and adaptive reuse

Location: New Farm, Meanjin | Brisbane
Sector: Heritage / Hospitality
Status: Construction, 2026

Located within a locally heritage-listed interwar building on Brunswick Street, PICI is a new Italian restaurant that balances the character of the existing building with a contemporary hospitality offering.

The design focuses on conserving and enhancing the building’s original architectural features, including the face brickwork, rendered parapets and board-and-batten ceiling. New slimline steel-framed glazing provides a stronger connection between the restaurant and the street, while respecting the building’s original form and heritage significance.

PRA worked collaboratively with the Heritage Architect and Alkot Studio throughout the design process, including early engagement and pre-lodgement discussions with Brisbane City Council, to deliver a considered adaptive reuse project that respects the heritage character of the building while accommodating its contemporary use.
